What is Awkward Morning Marketing? Using stagnant, boring, and forgettable marketing is a bit like having one of "those nights." It can be intoxicating to think that you are marketing like a rock star. You just bought a flashy commercial. Your telemarketing department has a ton of fresh new leads. You just devised a great spam e-blast to send out. Well what happens in the morning is that you find out that your multimillion dollar superbowl ad grabbed the attention of no one, your telemarketing had a .01% return rate, your friends didn't stop you from bringing home the girl who outweighs you by a dollar, you ruined the words to Edwin McCain in the Kaeroke bar, and then you wake up on a couch in some apartment you have never seen before in your life! All your friends hate you, and your dog just got hit by a car. Truly an awkward morning. Our mission is to prevent this by constantly presenting fresh ideas and perspectives on marketing, communication, and media. We take pride in profiting at the misfortunes and stupidity of others, and we'd like you to as well. Who we are: Jonesey - Has been dabbling in internet publishing for a few years now. He's mildly obsessed with studying media and the way people communicate. When he isn't bitching about marketing, he's probably bitching about baseball, theatre, or the CTA. He currently lives in Chicago. PZ - Specializes in internet marketing. Thats how he makes car payments on his Volvo. Occasionally you may hear him as "The Director of Awesome" on "Surfabilly Freakout", a specialty show on WPGU 107.1 FM, Thursday nights 9-10. He lives in Champaign-Urbana. What about you? We ALWAYS want feedback. We ALWAYS want to talk to our readers. There's no guarentee we won't make fun of you if you make a completely ridiculous arguement and/or act like a dick. But if you have something insightful to say, chances are we'll make it accessable to everyone. Currently we are looking for guest posts and guest writers.
